Billie Eilish Achieves ‘Dance Cam’ Glory by Dancing to Her Own Song at Dodgers Game

Billie Eilish was happier than ever while dancing to her own song at Dodger Stadium

Billie Eilish’s U.S. tour is over, but fans at Dodger Stadium were given a free performance by the Grammy-winning singer at Thursday night’s Dodgers vs. Giants game.

After spotting the star, the Dodgers' DJ began playing one of her biggest hits, 2019's "Bad Guy," between innings. After the game, Sports Center posted a video of Eilish dancing to her own music on social media. “A little dance cam during the half inning,” one of the announcers is heard saying in the clip. “How cool is it to dance to your own song at Dodgers Stadium?!” Another announcer agreed, “That’s pretty cool right there!”

Eilish’s dance cam cameo, as it turns out, was only the second biggest thing to happen to her yesterday after she surprised fans with a new two-song EP, Guitar Songs. The project featured two tracks, “TV” — which Eilish has played live on tour a handful of times — and new tune “The 30th.”

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Eilish explained that she wrote “The 30th” last December, and that it was the first song she wrote after her album, Happier Than Ever. The song describes a harrowing accident, which Eilish suggested she witnessed in real life.

Did Eilish’s presence and energy lift the Dodgers to victory? That’s impossible to say, but baseball is the most superstitious of all the sports, and the Dodgers’ Twitter account seemed to notice the correlation (yes, correlation does not mean causation, please calm down, stats nerds).

The outing happened on the same day Eilish surprised fans with a new EP called Guitar Songs. The project is comprised of two new songs "TV" and "The 30th." Eilish and Finneas also released a press statement about the new songs. "Finneas and I really wanted these to be yours as soon as possible. So here they are!! Performing “TV” on tour was such a highlight for us too, so we took the audio from the first night we played it in Manchester and put it in the song," the singer wrote per Pitchfork. "I get shivers every time I hear it. Hope you love the songs and thank you for letting us share our music with you."
